The Alaska Stalker – June 20, 2018

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Alaska Stalker, a semi-regular lighthearted round up of the best and worst of Alaska’s social media landscape. The tips have been flooding in – thank you and keep ’em coming!

The only relevant thing Michael Chambers will accomplish this election season.

Still not as creepy as his text messages.

Excuse me, don’t you mean messenger woman? #triggered

Alaska Stalker official warning: don’t text and politick. This accidental sext was delivered in the middle of a group text business exchange between several high level politicos. LOL!

Could I ask for a more succulent birch tree segue? Thanks for the shout out, Chris!

While we stand by Chris Birch’s signs, we have to give an honorable mention to the chosen one candidate for house Zack Fields. His signs are precious. So leedle! Perfect vibe for the downtown district.

Forrest. He issued a correction. Let it go! This is almost as bad as the jockstrap obsession.

Found a couple of interesting quotes on candidate for house Connie! Dougherty’s website. Apparently, bashing her fellow Republican opponent is in her official platform. Don’t see that every day. Does Connie! know that President Reagan used to be a Democrat before he switched parties?

Speaking of people switching parties, the Anchorage Republican Women’s Club couldn’t help but take a swipe at Representative Grenn’s… parents? Yikes. How soon people forget that Grenn was a life-long Republican before his switch to Independent. You’re doing a great job of winning him back ladies!

Looks like Charisse took our advice and is hitting the suburbs of South Anchorage. Be sure to watch the beginning of her Facebook Live.

Soaking up some sun while continuing to chat with neighbors in District 25! Such a great response so far tonight and some new signs popping up! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to talk.

Just talked to Dennis huh? In the suburbs? On a hot day?

He seems really supportive.

Who else is kind of jealous that East Anchorage has their own set of hashtags? Maybe it’s just the elected officials using them, but they all do it pretty consistently. Still not a fan of the double divergent diamond, but you’re okay East Anchorage.

Apparently candidate for house, Chris Dimond, brought together the Juneau version of Hatfield–McCoy. Impressive.

Pretty please wear the flower costume?

We all know Nikki Rose doesn’t like to share, so it came as no surprise that she kicked her husband off their weird joint Facebook account once she decided to run for office.

As you may remember, The Alaska Landmine predicted Rose’s run for municipal office back in April. On behalf of the Alaska Stalker, thank you Nikki Rose for pulling a David Nees and being directly responsible for most likely electing far left nonpartisan Austin Quinn-Davidson to the Anchorage Assembly. She can’t win without you! Who knows, maybe Nikki will screw up the state and muni again and try to file for house.

Overheard in Anchorage:

“If you work for the City of Anchorage you’re not allowed to say SAP at work anymore. It’s pretty much been banned.”

“Is the Stalker here?” Said apprehensively by a candidate at a recent political event.

Spotted in Anchorage:

Representative Lora Reinbold at 420 L Street

A reminder to candidates: dedupe those lists! We are getting lots of emails from folks who are getting two or three of the same mailers to the same address. Keep them coming! Bonus points if the name is spelled wrong!

Spotted at Gold Rush Days in Juneau:

Whoever put candidate for senate Jessie Kiehl next to gubernatorial candidate Mike Dunleavy is either clueless or an evil genius!
