Save Our State Rally featuring Portugal. The Man

On July 9, 2019, the organization Save Our State held a rally at UAA to protest Governor Mike Dunleavy’s (R – Alaska) recent budget vetoes. The rally was headlined by Grammy award-winning band Portugal. The Man, and featured short speeches by prominent Alaskans. The rally was very well-attended, especially by students and educators concerned about cuts to educational funding.

The Landmine was invited to cover the event and interview several members of the band. Please see our video and photos below!
