PHOTOS: JKT debuts LG in ANC

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins (“JKT”) debuted his Lieutenant Governor pick, independent Anchorage Assembly Member Zac Johnson, in a sun-drenched South Addition Anchorage backyard on Monday evening.

Attendees at Kreiss-Tomkin’s event, which numbered in the high dozens, were noticeably younger on average than those at other gubernatorial events. The atmosphere was relaxed and sociable, and the sounds of live music, children playing, and small dogs drifted through the air. A long buffet table featured Alaska staples, including salmon dip and Moose’s Tooth.

Penny Gage, who only days ago had won election to the Chugach Electric Association Board, introduced Johnson. Johnson, who recently won his own re-election race to the Anchorage Assembly on April 7, spoke about his professional background and his commitment to bipartisanship.

Some nice South Additional resident plastered JKT signs in the public right of way on L street. Could someone remind JKT that those signs are illegally placed and should be removed.

Totally agree.

However, he’s hardly the worst or only offender. Comparable Wilson, Taylor, and Bronson signs are all around too.

EVERYONE should abide by Alaska’s strict ban on roadside signs.

I’m going to post a link to DOTPF guidance on this in a comment to follow. (This website often disallows links, hence the separate comment.)

Thanks for that link, Dan. My first thought was property owners charging rent to political candidates for sign placement on high traffic roads.
