Republican David Littleton filed to run for the open Chugiak/Eagle River Assembly seat a week before the deadline. He faces Jared Goecker, a Republican who unsuccessfully challenged Senator Kelly Merrick (R – Eagle River) last year, and Kyle Walker, a Republican and engineer with the Department of Transportation.
On his public financial disclosure, Littleton listed a debt to the Municipality of Anchorage.
A property search shows he owed nearly $9,000 in back property taxes when he filed for office. Three days after filing, he made three payments totaling $2,470 for tax year 2024.
He still owes more than $6,400 for tax years 2023 and 2024. This amount includes penalties and interest.
Littleton told the Landmine that he assumed this loan a few years ago and because it’s owner financed, property taxes were not automatically deducted. He said he’s been working with the municipality to pay off the back taxes.
Littleton is no stranger to politics. Senator Kelly Merrick (R – Alaska) paid him $2,500 in past campaigns for constructing and placing campaign signs. 
Littleton works for the Alaska Laborers Training School. Joey Merrick, husband of Senator Kelly Merrick, is the labor boss for the Laborers Local 341. Littleton told the Landmine that the Merricks did not recruit him to run. “But,” he said, “they got my back!”
Last month, Littleton was elected vice chair of the District 24 Alaska Republican Party. His opponent was former Representative Ken McCarty. Littleton won by one vote. A source in the Alaska Republican Party tells the Landmine that Joey and Kelly Merrick used their influence to swing votes to Littleton.
It’s no secret that Joey and Kelly Merrick are not fans of Jared Goecker. Goecker ran an aggressive campaign against Kelly Merrick last year, and they don’t easily forget.
Littleton also seems to have an interesting presence on X, formerly knows as Twitter. An account, @AkDave_341 with the name David Littleton, registered in September 2024. 341 seems to be a reference to the Laborers Local 341.
Littleton told the Landmine that it is not his account, and said that someone hacked his email. The email address he registered when he filed for office is akdave341@yahoo.com, which matches the handle on Twitter. And an Instagram account, also “akdave341,” follows one person who in a 2015 post with Joey Merrick wrote, “My borther > youra.”
The @AkDave_341 X account is very loose and definitely NSFW (“not safe for work”). @AkDave_341 only follows three accounts (@eddiemoney07694891, @espn, and @ElleKnoxxxAu). @AkDave_341 has made no posts but the account has replied multiple times to @ElleKnoxxxAu, an Australian adult content creator.
In her X bio, Elle Knox says, “I’ve been spreading good vibes & flashing my titties online for almost a decade. I share my real life intimate experiences & adventures online, I guess you could say I’m an exhibitionist with over 900+ naughty videos on my site.”
The @AkDave_341 account has replied to multiple posts from Elle Knox. In a December 17, 2024 post featuring her bare breasts, Knox asked her more than 550,000 followers to “Rate my boobs out of 10.” @AkDave_341 replied, “11.” In a January 3, 2025 post with the same bare breasts photo, Knox asked her followers, “Rate out of 10.” @AkDave_341 replied, “I’ll give it a 34D.”
In a December 15, 2024 post, Elle Knox posted a photo of herself bending over with an exposed vagina with the caption, “Just watering the garden.” @AkDave_341 replied, “I would like to make sure you’re as equally wet as your plants.”
In two posts on January 5, 2025, Knox wrote, “Fucked a cute German guy who I met in the surf yesterday,” and “We didn’t film, because it’s kind of awkward to ask someone to film when you’ve just met.
You guy got any tips for how I ask? 😅.” @AkDave_341 replied, “You just ask. The worst that can happen is they say no.”
If all of this is any indication of how the race for the open Chugiak/Eagle River Assembly seat will go, we are all in for a real treat.
