Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins (“JKT”) debuted his Lieutenant Governor pick, independent Anchorage Assembly Member Zac Johnson, in a sun-drenched South Addition Anchorage backyard on Monday evening.
Attendees at Kreiss-Tomkin’s event, which numbered in the high dozens, were noticeably younger on average than those at other gubernatorial events. The atmosphere was relaxed and sociable, and the sounds of live music, children playing, and small dogs drifted through the air. A long buffet table featured Alaska staples, including salmon dip and Moose’s Tooth.
Penny Gage, who only days ago had won election to the Chugach Electric Association Board, introduced Johnson. Johnson, who recently won his own re-election race to the Anchorage Assembly on April 7, spoke about his professional background and his commitment to bipartisanship.
