Earlier today Republican gubernatorial candidate Bernadette Wilson posted an invite on X to a meet-and-greet in Soldotna on July 9. The location was Allen Sisters Coffee. There was just one problem, Allen Sisters Coffee is a drive-up coffee shop. The Landmine pointed out the humor of this on our Facebook page and X account. 

One commenter on X suggested that maybe she would be working the window, like when Donald Trump worked the window at a McDonald’s in Feasterville, Pennsylvania as a campaign stunt. 

Another Facebook commenter wondered if Rudy Giuliana booked it for her, a reference to when he mistakenly booked a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping instead of the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. 

Then, Wilson’s invite on X disappeared! 

Wilson then commented on the Landmine post, “Miscommunications happen but I’m super thankful for a team that rallies. Thanks for following my page so closely!” and posted an updated invite. An updated invite she posted listed the location as Mel’s Bakery and Cafe in Soldotna. 

When asked about the mix-up, Wilson told the Landmine, “I am blessed that I have campaign staff and so many volunteers working on this team that a quick mix-up in location was corrected so rapidly! They are working so hard and so fast I’m sure it’s not the last time. I’m also thankful for so many people who are following our campaign so diligently that we were able to catch this right away! Looking forward to seeing everyone in Kenai!”

The owners of Allen Sisters Cafe and Mel’s Bakery and Cafe did not return a phone call from the Landmine inquiring about Wilson’s event.
