Welcome to this week’s edition of The Alaska Stalker, a lighthearted round up of the best and worst of Alaska’s social media landscape.
We try to keep things fair(ish) around here, but some weeks we seem to poke fun at one political party over the other. Blame it on the internet gods. If you think we missed something, chances are we didn’t see it. The internet is a big place. So, if you see something, send something to akstalker@alaskalandmine.com. Let’s get to it.
Clearly Marc Lester wasn’t around for the great cat licensing debate of the early 90’s. Now THAT was some high level drama.
Also Marc, Zachariah, and other local media, here’s something else you might want to cover. The people have spoken!
If this doesn’t make you laugh you need to reevaluate your life. Click here for the non-edited version.
Candidate for house, Liz Snyder, posted this great (and sad soundtrack free!) video about how she has been personally affected by crime. Two cars, same driveway. Can any other candidate top that? Sheesh.
In January our van was stolen; last weekend our car was involved in a hit and run; and last night a friend’s boat was stolen while she slept. This, and the ongoing climate of crime, is unacceptable. I have (much) higher expectations for our great city and state. Please follow my campaign page for more discussion of this and other topics important to Alaska.Paid for by Snyder for AK House6608 Mink Avenue Anchorage, Alaska 99504

In related news, APD seems very busy these days.
A lot of our officers gladly accepted the #LipSyncBattle challenge, and some of the videos are way too funny to keep to ourselves.Consider this teaser #1 leading up to the grand finale… ?Officer Reeves: Anchorage Police DisneyPrincess ????♀️?

Candidate for Congress, Dimitri Shein made his way down to Girdwood’s annual Forest Fair over the weekend.
He was posted up in the ubiquitous “Dimitri Drive By” right after this iconic sign.
Alyse Galvin, who is also running for congress, had an event this weekend at the Midtown Mall. Apparently Alyse didn’t get the memo on the rebrand and told folks to meet her at the Sears Mall. Maybe that’s why more people didn’t show. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have you seen Marcus Sanders’ catch phrase? “Marcus in the House” is a pretty clever turn of phrase. Good to see Marcus in the House getting our favorite type of political advertising, branded hats, out there! Especially ones that don’t rip off Alaska Landmine editor-in-chief Jeff Landfield’s epic branding strategy for his failed senate campaign.
Candidate for House, Zack Fields, protesting his President’s SCOTUS nominee several hours BEFORE there was a nominee. No word on if he was one of the many protesters holding wire coat hangers. #classy
Certainly this applies to filing deadlines too, right?
Might want to practice what you preach Mr. Nees.
We don’t know what we’re more less excited for:

How long has Representative Claman been saving this photo? Also, who’s going to tell him?
Why is sisterhood in parentheses?! #triggered. Send Stalker an invite! I promise to help fight against the patriarchy within your secret I <3 Mark Begich Facebook group!
Are they solving the problem or scouting new locations? Something tells me that isn’t an illegal homeless camp.
Good to know Representative Gara. Good to know.
Ivy is stepping up her door knocking game. Pro tip: animals > flowers.
They don’t even have to be live animals! Here’s Governor Walker posing with Seymour “Votes” at the Alaska Men’s Run. Great pic Governor!

Meme of the week:
That reach tho.
Fan Mail:
Michael Dukes giving the Stalker lots of love on The Michael Dukes Show currently via Facebook Livestream. Here’s a clip. Thanks for reading Michael!
Lots of new readers lately! Thanks Jamie!
Spotted in Anchorage:

Candidate for house, Amber Lee, spotted on KTUU protesting her president’s SCOTUS pick (before it was announced, natch) at a Protect Our Care “press conference” at the Federal Courthouse building.
City of Kodiak has an impersonator on Facebook “City of Kodlak” and it’s posting wacky stuff https://m.facebook.com/groups/384987334941683?view=permalink&id=1786413884799014
