Alaska Airlines bans Sen. Lora Reinbold for refusal to comply with mask policy

Alaska Airlines has banned Senator Lora Reinbold (R – Eagle River) for continued refusal to comply with their mask policy. A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines provided the Landmine with the following comment:

We have notified Senator Lora Reinbold that she is not permitted to fly with us for her continued refusal to comply with employee instruction regarding the current mask policy. This suspension is effective immediately pending further review. Federal law requires all guests to wear a mask over their nose and mouth at all times during travel, including throughout the flight, during boarding and deplaning, and while traveling through an airport.

Reinbold flew to Anchorage on Thursday. Video obtained by the Landmine from the Juneau airport showed her arguing with Alaska Airlines staff, as well as demanding to know the name and badge number of a Juneau police officer. The only way for her to return to Juneau is drive through Canada to Haines, and either take a ferry or small plane to Juneau, take a ferry from Whittier, or charter a plane from Anchorage. The Alaska Marine Highway requires passengers to wear masks. Reinbold has sparred with Alaska Airlines employees over the mask policy since session began in January.

After a public ban on Alaska Airlines, there is NO WAY the Canadians will let her cross the border. It’s the Kennicott or a charter. I expect they will only allow her on the ferry if she is locked in a cabin the entire trip. She may not understand that the Captain has the authority to do that.

This is incomprehensible. It is SO very simple to just wear a mask and wear it properly. It isn’t taking away any rights. It is simply asking for your patriotism to protect your fellow Americans and work for this country to stem this disease so our economy and lives can recover. These very “mask deniers” are the same ones who say we need to get our economy growing again, yet the very simplest of acts to achieve that end for one’s country and the protection of all Americans is to wear a mask and they refuse to do so. Nothing could me more un-American. Did anyone watch the video from Twitter? She is WEARING A MASK and she is also not arguing, and is calmly talking with them.

Yep. Shis is arguing – maybe not having a temper tantrum, but none the less she is not complying. She’s also filming and asking for names. If the mask isnt worn properly it is ineffective and reckless to those who have to service her on that flight as well as fellow passengers. Covid is no joke – good for Alaska Airlines.
