Governor Bill Walker just appointed John Lincoln to the vacant House District 40 seat, according to a press release from Press Secretary Austin Baird. He will now need to be confirmed by a majority of Democrats in the House.

Dean Westlake recently resigned from the seat amid complaints of sexual harassment while in the legislature, and also after it surfaced he fathered a child with a girl who was 16 (15 at conception) while he was working for the Kotzebue Police Department in the 1980s.
