Governor Walker Appoints John Lincoln to Vacant House District 40 Seat

Governor Bill Walker just appointed John Lincoln to the vacant House District 40 seat, according to a press release from Press Secretary Austin Baird. He will now need to be confirmed by a majority of Democrats in the House.

The Alaska Democratic Party recently sent three names to Walker, but it looks like he decided to go another direction. The Alaska Landmine recently published a story about two of the three people the Democrats sent to Walker (Click here to read). Dean Westlake recently resigned from the seat amid complaints of sexual harassment while in the legislature, and also after it surfaced he fathered a child with a girl who was 16 (15 at conception) while he was working for the Kotzebue Police Department in the 1980s.
